Working for Warwick has become my current goal.

Right now I'm studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Spanish and I intend to pick up German in graduate school. I cannot think of any other way I'd rather spend my career.

Warwick.... here I come!

(on a side note, I started my designs for the singlecut contest... I'm using Rhinoceros 4.0 to do all of the modeling. It's awesome. I'm modeling all of the consistencies right now (the neck, fretboard, bridge, and strings). After I finish with that it's on to modeling the body designs I've sketched out. I cannot imagine a warwick bass designed by me, but this program is helping to bring that to life.

You sound determined, keep up the good work.
It would be nice if we could see your progress with the modelling
program but I don't know if it's allowed for the competition.

I can understand not wanting to give anything away, especially if your involved in a contest. But I for one, not having any real drafting or engineering experience, would be fascinated to see how a bass is designed from the ground up like this. Perhaps you could save your work in stages as you go so that after the contest you could perhaps start a thread where you show what you did at each step. That would be most interesting to see if you would consider sharing it. However i can sure appreciate the need to protect your work, so I sure wouldn't want you to do anything to jepordize your designs.

That would be sweet if you worked for Warwick. Live the dream brother! You can do it! Do it for yourself and for all of us who will never have a chance of working for this company! I believe in you!
 
here's the screen shot with the headstock, a little more work on the bridge, and the A string! This is a slow process but it's so fun.
 
A worthy goal Thomas! Good luck! Sounds like you know what you want, and that puts you most of the way there. Hone your talents and Warwick will be thrilled to have you on board, I'm sure!

And nice bass workup so far! :D

its the same with me!i also want to work for warwick!but not as a industrial designer!i would really like to work in their marketing department!and in the beginning in 2009 i will be in markneukirchen for a work placement!i cant wait to get their!

what kind of programm do you use for your modeling?is it freeware?

I use Rhinoceros. There's a free download on their site with 30 saves, but then it expires. good luck to you, sir!
