wood question

hey
i play metal and jazz
i was wondering if the AA maple wood on the body of the streamer LX
would give me a nice metal growl, but also allow me to have a nice clear jazz tone? would it allow that kind of versatility?

Short answer: YES! The streamer LX is a great bass, sounds deep, still, very articulated. It's not just the maple body, but the ovankol/ wenge neck brings the growl.

also would it be better to just get the stock with 2 band eq? or get a custom with 3 band eq?

The stock one sounds perfect bypassed . The 3 band eq can shape the sound really nice.

I think there are a lot of metal bass lines derived from jazz............I'm more into classical music though. Somehow I don't feel jazz. :?
