What's your preferred finish on the Corvette $$?

tricky one. For me, it will be either plain classy natural, or antique tobacco. But it's beautiful in red too. I just prefer wood tones.

Natural! But then again mine has a bubinga pommelé top...

nirvana black, tobacco and natural ovangkol which i'll order today :D

...or that... Bubinga + gold hardware...

How much you paid for the custom work btw?
€1500 for the bubinga pommelé top, gold hardware, lined ebony fretless and a piezo. The price is with shipping and Danish taxes

Vette STD: Bubinga
Vette $$: Nirvana black

Scubadiver... I tried out a bubinga corvette std recently and it sounded awesome! In fact... If I didn't already have a $$, I'd be hard pushed to say which one I preferred - $$ more versatile, but the bubinga has a great basic tone..

Back to the thread.. the NBK $$ is the one to have - but anything in bubinga (or ovangkol) will have to be natural and waxed up!

Gotta admit the burgundy looks awfully nice against the neck wood.

Saxonbass,

I totally agree with ya. The bubinga vette STD sounds awsome and it's beautiful. It's allways been on my WANTED list, considering the sound and looks.

IMO and for my taste the Vette $$ have to be black or maybe red..... at least dark. Those humbuckers looks so mean on a dark body. As it's also sounding great, considering the music I play it was a done deal.

So..... $$ ... preferably in Nirvana black.

IMO, I think the double humbuckers look too big on natural or clear finishes...

They look much better on dark colour... Black on black !

i like very much the nirvana black, but i like "the lion" more than the rest, the next week arrive my new $$ swirly bubinga, natural with ebony fretboard
regards.

I've never seen a $$ in the violet or turqoise. Has anyone here? I'm almost having a hard time imagining it...lol.

So, tell me about the nrivana black...it almost looks brown/black. I'm sure that's the intent or maybe it's just how they're being "lit" in photo flash?

Nirvana black is black. It looks like a Darth Vader in is Stealth bomber. Maybe I'm getting old, but it's not for me. Because the finish is transparent, you still get the wood grain, and ash is really white, so no 'brown' discoloration.

As for the red, it's lovely too. And for violet, purple, green adn blue, really not my bag. Does it even makes sense on a badass $$? Maybe if you're Prince or something...

I'm just a sucker for natural finishes and wood tones. I blame my Thumb.

LOL @ the prince comment. True.

I prefer most the red, black, and natural too. (the gold hardware looks nice on the natural)

The red looks great against that neck:
