Whats my next bass?

Ive got a Corvette ASH STD. Nirvana.



Next bass i will buy from Thomann.de or second hand. The regular store prices in Swe are ridiculous.



My birthday is on the summer and i will probably be able to get like 600 Euro+summerjob that will give me 10000 Euro Approx.



What bass is most different from the ash std. Since i dont want the same thing over again. Exclude the Vette $$.

With 10000 Euro you will come a loooong way. You can get almost anything with that kind of money. Or are you mixing it up with 10000 SEK?

Well the ash is very easy to slap and i maybe wants a bit more soft,woody sound.


Because i find it almost impossible to play soft songs with the ash. It just gets to "in your face". It suits perfect to Smiths songs though^^.



Its not like i "need" a specific sound i just want more. More bass, i want to have 2 basses. I have like everything i want when it comes to videogame,computers etc. So i dont know what to do with my money and i thought well its allways good to have another bass.

It feels like the std ash is the "cheapest" Wick there is. And i want to feel like the real deal with more than just ash and passive mics.



(sorry for beeing childish: Calling the STD cheapest and just want a new bass for no specific reason, dont know what i really want)

Ash is not the cheapest wood you can find and ash is not used only because it's cheap. Ash gives a certain character to the sound, for example bottom or "botten/bas" in Swedish.

If you want midrange (mellanregister på svenska) then go for a thumb BO or NT. Those deliver a good tight midrange.

Passive and active mics are a matter of liking. Some think active is better, but some just love passive basses. It's the same with ammount of strings. I love four, but some want 5 or 6 or more. The swamp ash is used in many other models than the Corvette STD. And while it probably is the cheapest warwick, it is by far cheap in it's construction and playability. My Corvette ash std is awesome!
It's all a matter of liking. Many people love thumbs, but there are people who prefer corvettes, or streamers, or buzzards? =D
Different woods are priced different. So it's one of the price factors. Electronics is another. Ash is found in the US. Ovangkol, Bubinga, Zebrano and Wenge to mention some are not, thus more expensive.

Why is a German built bass made with ash cheaper because it is found in the US when the bass is made in Germany? Is it cheaper maybe because ash is more plentiful?...

There's US swamp ash,& European ash.Eg,the Taranis & DL are French ash that's been sand blasted.

with a 100 euros budget, your choice is pretty much limited to the corvette std is you with a new bass... If you go used, a thumb BO sounds like a good idea, but then again it depends on what you're looking for in terms of sound/feel/style...
