My first bass was a red Fender Squire II P-Bass - I don't own it anymore and it was'nt the best bass ever but then again you never know if your gonna stick with playing an instrument - Thats was 18 years ago - I can still remember the blisters and trying to tape up the spots where the skin peeled off :lol: - I should try to scan a photo of me with it - braces and zit farm :lol: - I bought it from a guy named Wally at guitar center - I remember him because he wore a funny chain with his hairy chest showing and played a generic riff I later tried to duplicate and called the Wally tune
 
mine was a yamaha something or other. my dad bought it for me and i'll never sell that thing. everytime i look at it, i can't help but think of my dad and smile.
 
Washburn XB-125 - I modded the heck out of it... converted it to a fretless 4 string with a wide neck :) And swapped out the active soapbars in it for some fender 62 jazz pickups.
 
A Rockbass Corvette Active. I thought it was good until I got my CS Corvette. Gargantuan difference.

Which I loved dearly until I got it stolen.... :x

Now I want a fretless Warwick, any will do...
 
Encore bass. I think it was short scale IIRC. That's a long time ago now :lol:
 
Kay, still have it, got it for Christmas. Never get rid of that thing. The next was a 1977 Fireglo 4001, still have that one too. :D
 
Aria Pro II. A bass I played for maybe 5-6 years without changing strings. Couldn't afford it.
 
My first proper bass was my Yamaha RBX800, which was a present from my mum and dad. I was really disappointed at the time as I desperately wanted a Westone Thunder 3A but after I started to play it, it sounded great and played really nicely.

I still have it and would never sell it - it has loads of personal rock and roll history.
 
Peavey dyna international series 4 string, i fell in love with the quilted maple cherry colored top on the body and matching headstock £200 well spent, im happy to say it went to a good friend of mine who gigs with her regularly! awesome bass, no regrets.
 
As can be seen from my signature,

my beloved Yamaha BBG4SII. :D It's a horrible sounding instrument (compared to the Warwick), but is easy to play. Overal it's a great instrument that I still play very often.................. 8)
 
My Fender Jazz Bass from jap. with EMG pups. I could never sell it. I don't think I'll ever seel a bass unless I'm into some deep sh*t and desperately need the cash (Yes bad movie theme) :)
 
Tanglewood Rebel IV. I got it at the London Guitar Show in December '95 for £199.

12 years ago £200 didn't get you much, for £200 these day you can do rather well online.

I still have it in the loft (and the receipt)

It sounds like crap, but i loved it at the time when i was learning smoke on the water and smells like teen spirit :-)
 
Mine was a yamaha, no idea what model was but it was blue...
 
Harmony H22/1, thinline hollow body with double cutaway and f holes. Sunburst finish, later refinished to cherry red. A true bludgeon of an instrument, with strings that sounded like wet ropes. My best friend and band leader, out of mercy, loaned me a P bass. This was in 1964.

An Aria Pro II. The action was so high that it was nearly impossible to play anything in 1st position.

About 6-months later I bought a set-neck Charvel. Man, I'm really dating myself by telling this...
