What to do...

Although on the upside... Out of this band I did get some experience, pretty well known around the Portland area, a Fender Jazz, A groovy little mixing board with some effects, etc.

I now have everything I need except an interface (which I'll be getting soon) to do all of my own high quality recordings

So I told the guys lastnight about the whole situation. And they ended up telling the guitard that they know. I ran down to the practice space today to snag up all my gear until everything calms down between everyone (And I told them that I was doing that for that same reason) Well I log onto myspace this afternoon and I've been deleted from the bands page. I call one of the guitarists and he said that the guitard that he was scammed and the site was a fake and yada yada yada... He came up with another lie and they believed it.

I didn't believe it for a second... I did another dns check on the domain and the domain was updated again this afternoon with all of the guitards new info. Which proves he's the owner of it and he's been lying. I told the guys and they still refuse to believe me, I have a TON of evidence that he's behind all of this... They said I can come back, But don't expect any apologies.

So, I'm done.

Time to hunt for a new band Maybe I'll play some funk this time around.

Good choice. Coming from a band, where the bonds should be like brotherhood, that's fucking rediculous. There are loads of bands who are in desperate need of good bass players, I'm sure you'll be sought out soon enough. Good luck man

Nope They never helped me fix the car... Although surprisingly on the drive to the practice space yesterday to pick up my stuff the check engine light stayed off the whole drive there, the whole drive back and even lastnight when I ran to the store... Could a higher power have taken a wrench to my car? I hope so!

This is good for you Casey. Remember your thread about every other band wanting a bass player? Now you can pursue some other opportunities.

The first band I ever played with in NYC fired me. Only band I've ever been fired from (I wasn't committing enough time apparently... 4 rehearsals a week? Come on!!).

Long story short - it was the best thing that happened to me. It allowed me to take opportunities I couldn't previously.

I'm sure the same will happen to you. Hopefully you can still find an excuse to come out to NYC.

I guess it is time I find other players up to my "skill" level.

rather, a GENRE, in which you could express your stuff.

and yes, im one of the ppl who kept on wondering why you are stuck playing in those "2 bass strings-2 note groove" bands - the reason those bands exist is so that beginner bass players have a place to start *lol*

now im not surprised why you get a lot of offers - they think your capabilities and skills are a waste there.

Thing is you can express yourself in any genre (although obviously playing something like funk will help) as long as who your playing with let you, as in don't take all creative control and be like DO THIS NOW!
