What Kind of Thumb Did I Get???

I bought an awesome Thumb BO on Ebay. It's a 2001 model with an ebony fingerboard and a gorgeous bubinga top. The bottom part of the body is ovankol. I never saw a Thumb BO like this. What is this Thumb? Thanks.

Sounds Like a 2001 Thumb Ltd.

Go to warwick.de -> Products -> Basses -> Limited Editions and scroll all the way down. Nice find! Can you post some pics?
 
You got yourself the First official LTD edition Warwick. We started doing LTD series in 2001, and this series was the first one. It's an Ovangkol body, with a Bubinga Top and a maple veneer in between, all this with an ovangkol neck and an Ebony fingerboard.

Did I get a LTD 2001 Thumb??? But, there's no Hans's signature on the back of the headstock. I used to own a 2004 LTD FNA Jazzman and I know the signature was there.

But, it sure looks exactly like the 2001 LTD. Oh my God! I placed a bid on a whim after a mild fight with my wife and won (for $935). I didn't even look at the auction photos. When I received it, I thought, "Urr, what the heck is this Thumb?"

Anyway, this Thumb sounds incredible. I waxed it last night and applied linseed oil on the fingerboard and even my wife said, "That's so sexy!"

How do I post photos, BTW? I just registered to ask, so I have no idea how to do so.

My suggestion (but i'm not bought by Photobucket)

1. Get an account at Photobucket.
2. upload your pictures there.
3. Copy the IMG tag and paste it in your post like this

Han's didn't sign the 2001 LTD (mine wasn't signed either). I believe that tradition began in 2002...

If the 2001 LTD was the first LTD Edition Warwick,what happened to the 2000 LTD Edition Infinity?Last time I looked the year 2000 came before 2001.

Ollie said that it was the first official LTD. Notice that there isn't a 2000 LTD on the website.
 
I dunno guys,it looked pretty official to me.Only 100 made.The DBG's myspace page has a pic of an Infinity LTD but it says 2001 LTD & it has a toggle switch & enclosed pickup covers instead of the exposed pole pieces the 2000 LTD Infinity has.I've seen this bass,it does exist. :P LMAO :lol:

Ive seen 2001 LTD Thumbs with the signature. Im almost 100% positive.
