What do you take to your shows?

Just wondering what everyone takes to a show?

What bass do you usually play at a show? Amp? Gear? Etc.?

My Thumb 6 always goes with me, I havn't taken the backup Fender yet...
My Markbass/Trace Elliot full stack (even at the tinyest shows) :P
I keep my Markbass head inside of a laptop case
All my cables/tools/etc/ are in a backpack
And of course the Warwick gigbag

I have also been taking band flyers lately and putting them around the clubs before the shows ever start.

I think tomorrow though I'll be stenciling my name on all of my equipment, As much gear as we have thats being moved around I sure would hate to lose something...
 
Well my bass (either Thumb or Ibanez, depends. I have my Thumb set up and downtuned a whole step for my main band, and my Ibanez regular tuning for other stuff)
Depending on the size of the gig, either my combo or my full stack
Tuner, never leave home without it
As many cables as I can find
Aphex Punch Factory compressor
If it's a big stage I'll use my Samson Airline Bass wireless
Spare 9v & AAA batteries
My toolkit (allen wrenches, screwdrivers)

That usually covers it.

Fortress (in case)
Little Mark 2 (need a bag)

Cables (in bag)
Effects (in case)
Straps (in respective carrying apparatus)
Tuner (in bag)
Beer (sometimes)
 
Here's mine...

- Roller rack (power conditioner, compressor, preamp, amp, adapter(s), cords, & cables).
- Isolator (mostly for outdoor gigs).
- 410 cab.
- My thumb bass (tuners, strap, distortion pedal, extra 9V batteries, and toolkit).
- Towel (in case of shitty weather).

That's about it. :lol:

- Hardcase

My Bass, cables, tuner and surge protector fit in the hardcase and then it's just my amp. No effects and no additional items. Easy, quick and very effective. :D

My Thumb NT 5 for stuff when I need that low B - and of course always good to bring 2 basses.
And since I don't have a fullstack (yet) I bring my old Trace Elliot 4*10 combo. The of course batteries, tuner, cables you name it. And water or something just in case they old serve me beer at the show :wink:

My custom Vampyre NT5, Boss RC50, Boss TU2, Tubepath 5.1, 211 Pro, Bag full of leads, strings and stuff. On solo shows I take my Yamaha TRB1006 too.
 
STreamer STage II, Tubepath 10.1, 2x 411 Pro, Symetrix 501 compressor,
Spectraflex cables, Korg DT 10 Tuner, spare strings, and a cloth.

As I think of myself as "Mr Contingency"...

I have a bag (which I leave in the car) which is rammed full of everything I might need in an emergency... including all kinds of cables, leads, spare strap. I also have a smaller bag which I keep with me which has spare batteries, spare strings, spare tuner (in case the pedal tuner goes) and one spare cable.

Then whichever bass I'm using, amp, and my pedal board, which just has a boss tuner and the EBS microbass on it (plus power supply)

Funnily enough, "Mr Contingency" doesn't usually take a spare bass, as I reckon most problems can be sorted with the spare battery/strings!
 
I like "Mr Contingency", Saxonbass has been around the block a few times, he knows what to bring to the gig. lol Well here's some stuff that I bring to gigs not just my stack of gear. Sure, I always use 2 basses (sometimes 3) SWR SM900, 410 Cab and a bunch of pedals, rack of effects (power conditioner, compressor, BBE processor) in my rack I also have a SWR interstellar overdrive, just in case my amp goes down and I still want a good sound out to the room, it's kind of a fail-over if need be. A few other things I bring that no one has mentioned are.
Soap, nail clipper, ear plugs (for those nasty loud stages), bandaids, and liquid bandaid (this can be invaluable if you happen to rip a calous off and you start to blead), toothbrush and toothpaist, a towel, an extra shirt that you can wear on stage just in case you spill a drink (never happened to me, but I always have the backup shirt LOL!) some sort of pain relief, motrin/tylenol... for when your bandmaites are really anoying you, and here where I live in Canada, you absolutely have to have some leather gloves for unloading the trailer full of gear, the leather gloves won't keep you terribly warm but they'll stand up to abuse and your hands won't freeze to any of the case handles. Right now it's pretty chilly so all the equipment has to warm up for about 2 hours before a gig so you don't blow drivers and the condensation is causing some issues.
I sometimes also bring a cigar or 2 for after a show.
What I've learned is, if you think you might need it and it's not heavy and doesn't take up much room, bring it!

PS Gaf (duct) tape and electrical tape can be the healer of many ills.
 
I usually take everything except my Fender... but 2 weeks ago at a jazzy gig I was so tired that I forgot my bass at home! I arrived at the club, opened the trunk and there it was: EMPTINESS.....

I drove home and grabbed my Streamer and that's it... sorry for offtopic..
 
You Romanians are great at leaving basses at home aren't you? :D Florin entertained us with a similar mishap earlier, he was just much further away when he noticed :lol:

A slightly different idea I stole from my brother (who is also in Tv IV Dogs) is that I now take a stainless tell chain and a solid padlcok with me to gigs, and I use it to lock my basses, amp and cab into a single unit, making it much harder for anyone to jack anything.

That's actually a pretty damn good idea... never had anything nicked and I'd like to keep it that way.
 
I hate gigging. You would have to pay me serious moolah and give me a few slaves to get me to gig again.
 
I like gigging, but only once or twice a month, That's plenty for me. I have a full time job/family...
