Cool song that has captivated me ever since I first heard it in 1975 as a young teen-

Listening to the "Diary of Patrick Xavier" by Stu Hamm.
It's very different. Concept album, solo bass all the way, some songs are very touching, some other are more experimental. Better to listen to it with a headphone. A lot of diferent shades in the sound.
Pros : great concept, very original, bass playing at its finest, some great compositions
Cons : well, if you don't like solo bass and a different approach to making music you won't like it.

Icehouse were possibly the first major label Aussie band to use programming/drum machine. My eldest son really likes "Great southern Land".

Certainly the first to incorporate the CMI Fairlight which also hails from down under.

I remember Great Southern Land from “Young Einstein.”

And then of course there’s Guy Pratt’s phenomenal bass work on Sidewalk and Measure for Measure

John Coltrane "Moments Notice" from Blue Train album. It's a different progression than I'm used to!!

Here let me help with that. Not a particular fun of the band or the song, but the drummer does manage to create some very nice textures there.

Casually enjoying Manilla Road's brand of makeshift epic heavy metal, made in Wichita Kansas. It's incredible how they can play something that sounds tight with this chaotic drummer. Love the bass tone and playing in the intro.

Another favorite from The Deluge, the epic track of the same name.
