What are you listening to..ATM?

Some of tonights Tube mix... If you guys aren't familiar with Sabbath's '74 California Jam show... you should be. There's a rainbow on stage ffs. It's short, sweet and epic. Holy sea of people...and... Bill fucking Ward.... BEAST.

Check out Junior's Eyes-- perhaps you've heard it , but I'll put in the clip.

There is some really cool stuff on Never Say Die. It had been forever since I heard that...thanks for posting :)

I alway liked Joe Walsh either with the James Gang or solo better than with the Eagles. You've heard Barnstorm I'm sure-- I also like So What.

I agree about Walsh. I think I would have been totally ok with them staying just like this....

(Jackson Browne over there on keys)

And a shout out to Randy Meisner. One of the more magical moments eva.

Though I'm not into the whole composition I admit that I'm rather taken by the bass line in the intro. Paul Oldfield was a session bassist in the UK before he undertook this project.

Haha, that's pretty awesome ecto. Hadn't seen that before. Some cool bits, for sure. And I like the totally casual everyone sitting down vibe. Very chill.

This helped put me in a good mood this morning. These boys could put on a show. What a stage presence John was. And that voice.

You'd sure swear they must have been from the deep South, but they were actually all from Berkley.

I've owned three copies of 'Live at Pompeii' but eventually wound up giving each one away as gifts in the interest of spreading the wealth. I will say that I do like the later director's cut over the original given the choice.... Echoes is a beautiful composition...thank you for the reminder....

Speaking of goosebumps-- check out these little known offerings by The Fixx featuring Dan K. Brown and his Wal Mk II fretless five...... Check out the lyrics of Camphor in the info section-- pure poetry I also added the pictorial sequence. These were two of five songs that inspired me to play fretless bass....

Oh very nice. Lovely fretless work. Hadn't heard those before, thanks. Sweet lyrics, for sure :)

Love my fretless Thumb.

Never heard classical electric bass before-- but here it is by Karlos Medina in the intro of Dance of St. Vitus from Agent Steel's Order of the Illuminati album.

I hadn't listened to these songs in a while and had forgotten how incredible the bass lines are! This is the House and Cool Blue by Eurythmics. Wikipedia says it's Andy Brown playing bass on This is the House. I don't have any idea who it is on Cool Blue. Both are awesome!!!

The writer's block is worse than I thought-- although I'm generally not a proponent of this genre because it's often rendered trite by the usual obligatory gloom and doom lyrics and band personae by the masters of public opinion and the tight leash the musical moguls use to keep them in line to get a record deal......... but as I listened to this in the background to drown out the unbearable Starbucks music, I believe they actually meant and felt it when they recorded this. I looked up the lyrics, and I can see that some thought was put into them. Dare I say i finds parts of lyric and song poignant? Oh, and I like the bass!

White light, mission classified
Neural probe, map your mind target
Run the maze, my loyal pet
Recall your orders and the rest forget

(You are close)
So close to the perfect crime
A human bullet in a chambered mind
An appetite for profanity
Everything you were made to be

Fracturing the pristine mind
Crack the shell and reach inside
Manipulating all we find to do or die

Conflict borne of man machines
Solidifies our chosen scheme
It's so much more than what
It seems behind your eyes

White light, falling star
The you, you knew is now the slave you are
(Dancing)
To a dirge that sings within
A waltz of damage just beneath the skin
(Rhythmic death)

Death tapped out by your puppet toes
Another current in the undertow
Below the waves we weave the curse
To drown the world and choke the earth

Assembling the fractured mind
Puzzle equals suicide
Create the killer from inside
Some dreams must die

Slaughtering ability
Bred in you through trickery
Surrender blindly, slake our greed
And stain the skies

(Dominate)
Until we hear their cries
(Dominate)
While they believe our lies
(Dominate)
Salt and twist the knife
(Dominate)
Until the wound is ripe

Above theocracy, we reign
Sharing death, bearing pain
In God's name all the heretics must die

Behind democracy, we rule
And communists we use as tools
All the world's devoted to our crime
And still we trust our minds

We reign
[Incomprehensible]

Above theocracy, we reign
Sharing death, bearing pain
In God's name all the heretics must die

Behind democracy, we rule
And communists we use as tools
All the world's devoted to our crime

Behind theocracy, we reign
Sharing death, bearing pain
In God's name all the heretics must die

Above democracy, we rule
And communists we use as tools
All the world's devoted to our crime
And still we trust our minds, we trust our minds
