I thank all you for your kind comments and moral support regarding the loss of a friend- initially I holed up for a bit - my apologies for not responding earlier-

    But I'm BACK!

I am also sorry to hear about that loss and would like to say that I think it's totally fine to seek some distance to others for some period of time, so in my opinion no need for any excuse from your side

I have been listening to this band a lot lately. There are several bands with the same name, but only this band has an awesome horn section......so accept no substitute! I am still going to work every day here in central Florida. They haven't locked the state down yet, which seems odd considering Florida is the retirement capital of the US. Makes you wonder what our dear leaders are up to. Anyway, I find this band's music very soothing to listen to, while I sit here waiting for the viral onset.

I was listening to this song and it made me think of the loss of your friend ...
It's a text in French, but I have translated the 2nd verse.

"I'm remaking the story because you're no longer there
I blame life for its vagaries
    You left without mea culpa
All those unspoken things we won't tell each other
Orphan, but how do you really become a father?
No more time to turn around to cry over her fate
And even if I often don't know how to do it anymore
You taught me how to be able to stay strong
Far gone, gone fast, gone too early
All supporters of other lives, other ideals
To heaven for love I send these words
The parenthesis only closes if necessary
We try to make you proud
By our paths, our loves, our lives, yes our destinies
    You watch the back
From our treasures, our happiness, our children their paths
Your names remain engraved on our land
And I try, I transmit, your values just by instinct
And even if everything is fleeting
I want to live and smile to build the happiness of mine
We would all like to be able to speak one day
To all those who have missed us for so long
They will always remain in our thoughts
Like every word that marked us, everything is different
Sweat and our tears mingle on the stage
And despite the pains that we hide and contain
We want to believe in happiness beyond our pain
We keep hope, rightly or wrongly"

Never heard them before, though the name is vaguely familiar-- Interesting sound for 1973, and a charismatic persona-

I have to ask -- was it the Rick and the SG that sold you?

Led Zeppelin - Black Dog by a local veteran. I'm sure you guys know it's a tricky tune to pull off, esp. in a band setting.
