What are you listening to..ATM?

[Nachobassman]

[Foal30]

He mates with Greg Dulli who is most certainly an A Grade talent
I've got to have a listen to the Gutter Twins

Samuel Taylor Coleridge (and friends)-

[PaulS]

One of my favorite bass lines to play right there

[DiMarco]

[ectoflanger]

I really like the vibe and feel of the song starting at around 7:49 in this concert vid of Til Tuesday playing Live at the Ritz. There is no commercially available studio version of this song, pity

[jester]

I'm learning this so I have to listen to it. I like it a lot.

Yannis, I think you’ll like this other Rainbow song from the Joe Lynn Turner era-

[ectoflanger]

I believe that’s Jean Luc Ponty on violin and Tom Fowler on bass-

Btw, are you familiar with Inca Roads? It’s probably my favorite Zappa tune-

[ectoflanger]

Roger Glover on bass on those Rainbow songs-

[Bassist4Eris]

I believe that’s Jean Luc Ponty on violin and Tom Fowler on bass-

Sure is.

Totally agree. I love Zappa in general, but "Inca" is special.

[Bassist4Eris]

Careful with this one; it'll peel the paint right off your walls.

[ectoflanger]

So the Rainbow kind of segued me to another band with prominent airplay in the early-80’s-

Check the imaginative way the bassist insinuates his counterpoints into the flow of the vocal melody. I started on this with my Thumb BO 5 five years ago or so, ut backed off a bit because of the trickiest of getting it to fit. I suppose it’s about time to get back on it.

[jester]

Roger Glover on bass on those Rainbow songs-

And doing a damn fine job at that.

[ectoflanger]

One of these days ... I’ll probably get a Gibson Explorer-

[ectoflanger]

Since I mentioned Tull- how about a tune off Songs From the Wood?
