My ebay Warwick Corvette Standard 5-String '96 model came in today. This is the first time I've ever played one, or held one for that matter. It's pretty awesome. Pics will follow this weekend. I've already lemoned down the body, polished the frets back to their former bronze glory, and polished all of the hardware chrome to a brilliant shine. It's like new again basically, except for a sticker mark that has left a faint imprint on the top of the body. No big deal though.

Thanks for all the info on this forum guys. The polishing, lemon oil, wood type, etc. Everything helped me get it shining. Now I can't stop staring at it hanging from my wall.

Oh, one question. The letter on the back is supposed to represent the month that it was made. Mine has an M. And M is the 13th letter of the alphabet... which doesn't correspond to a month... so.. what does that mean?
 
Well, that year was a good year, 13 months :-)
The I letter is not used, so M means December.

96 is an excellent year for Corvettes! mine is absolutely superb!

Ok. That's it. This is an amazing bass. This 12 year old bass, with its passive pickups, tone knob, and pickup blend give me more types of sounds, all of them better, than my brand new Yamaha TRB1005 did with it's onboard EQ.

I'm won over completely. Time to get rid of the Yamaha. I don't want it tainting my corvette.
 
Welcome to the family! I had the same reaction upon discovering Warwick. Got to love these instruments!
