I downloaded the 2010 price list today, and compared it against the prices I had froma couple of years ago, and I nearly spat coffee all over the computer. The prices rises are INSANE!

I understand that each model must be profitable, and they certainly will be at these prices. But surely Warwick aren ot geting the volume of sales they did a few years ago?

I have three Warwicks, and I can't see that i will ever be able to get another, especialyl as the COrvette Standard is not available to use as a base instrument for a CS model. I would love an Infinity, but since I last shopped around 3 years ago, the price of a standard model has gone up 60%.

I couldn't believe the list price of the new CLayton signature - £6300!!!! You've got to be kidding me if anyone would be prepared to pay that. I don't understand who's buying all these uber-expensive signature models. To spend that much, I would want something unique.

I always recommend Warwick basses to people I talk to, but nobody you'd class as "an improver" can really afford one any more. i think that's a shame.

I don't consider my bass collection complete, but if I am ever in a position to order a new one, I will ahve to consider going to a custom luthier next time.
 
First of all, those are LIST prices, not what you will actually pay in a store for them; secondly, with the current economy that's how things are, prices increase all the time for businesses to survive.
 
I've been rather shocked too, fellow Huddersfield-dweller! I assumed that a lot of it was due to the poor exchange rate we have in the UK at the moment. The good side of it is that I could probably sell one of my basses for the same price I paid for it... except I don't want to sell one! It has rather buggered up my fantasy of getting an Infinity or an SS2
 
And only one, ONE lefthanded Warwick on Ebay.

I`m kinda excited about what prices my dealers will provide...at the same time, not. The only thing I`ll blame myself for, is not getting that Corvette or Streamer $$ last year. At least, Warwick is now on par with Spector, so I might consider a Euro too.
 
+1, I'm looking at that '83 remake, and possibly a NT euro... methinks I'd kill for a US bolt-on, but then again, I would for an LX too.

I hate that the prices have increased, we all do. But what ticks my clock, is that Eden's prices have dropped through the floor, I can finally afford a high end rig from them!!!

I look at Warwick the same way I do Harley Davidson. They're beautiful, I love them, but they are almost a status symbol. Yes, you can buy second hand. However, the fun in owning one is being able to break her in proper!!!
 
Pricing lists contain INSANE pricings.
Referring to the German list, as I live in Italy, I realize I paid my 'vette$$ something like 600 euros less than the listed price, I've seen a couple of Thumb NT at 2400 euros...900 less than the official list.
Now my model costs 300 euros more than just a month ago, a Thumb only 100€ more, and my favourite dealer still sells them at the same price.
Speaking about Signature models o Limited editions, I agree with Jazzman: I'd rather spend my money for a luthier hand-made bass.

That`s why I might consider something US-made instead, since the $ has weakened on the NOK and €. But what the heck, my dealer promised a 20%-off on any Warwick, so I`ll see what he ends up at.
 
Me looking into spectors has nothing to do with Warwick's price increase... I just always wanted one, LOL.

I'm actually anxiously awaiting the Corvette pro in ash... despite them moving factory, and getting over the initial shock, I think any one of us, blindfolded would be hard-pressed to find a noticeable difference.
 
We can`t do anything about it anyway, than to push our dealers. Sucks to be lefthanded.
 
I'm left handed, fortunately I had a mate back in me teens who wouldn't even let me touch a guitar left handed (no bad habits to unlearn), I learned from square 1 right handed. Never regretted that. Hey, they don't make left handed pianos.
 
Many musicians born left handed are playing right handed. It's much more practical, you can buy any bass you want and it doesn't look weird hehehe...

Except the Corvette Std, the price increase is not really that dramatic. With a cool dealer you might not feel it almost at all :-)
 
Just had a look on the Bass Centre UK website... they have 4 string (fretted) bubinga Corvette stds for £690. I'm severely tempted... but I'm going to be made redundant at work soon, so probably not.

I'm looking at my current basses in a new light... not only has their value gone up, but they're both elegantly mojo'd and gigged in... by me!

Yeah, I tried that for a month or so, both on bass and guitar, but my motions never got fluent. It never felt right (hah!). I picked up a lefthanded Yamaha, boom - there it was in a minute. In some way, being lefthanded is pretty cool too. Well, I still have my aims for a Corvette or Streamer $$, so we`ll just have to wait and see.

That just went up to 1025 £, mister.
 
Actually, my norwegian dealer just pushed BassCentre UK out of the league. I`ll save 200£ before shipping, on a Corvette $$. And almost 300£ on a Streamer $$.
