What is the exact price increase in the US? Is there a price increase in Canada also?

In question to this. Does anyone have an idea when Second hand Wick's sales will go up again?

With that kind of foresight i could retire a very rich man.
As for the price increases, they went up last year, globally.Warwick had 1 price increase compared to some of their competitors who had 2.Everything related to manufacturing basses went up.Wood & metals both increased as well as fuel to get them to you.
In life, you get what you pay for.& with Warwick, you get more than most.
Philosophically yours. :)

If I had to guess, I would say the decrease of the used market has nothing to do with the increase of the new market. Used will go up when the economy rebounds. People who buy new are insulated from economic downturns, or they wouldn't be buying a bass for $5200 that they could easily get for $1500 used (Thumb 5 NT, for example).

I need to move some where outside of the US so my dollar will be worth something. I don't mind the price increase but to have it go up this much this fast for US buyers feckin sucks. I bought my Thumb NT for around $3,500. Now I'm looking to buy a SSI and its going to cost me around $2,000 more for a bass that costs less.

Buy used. I wouldn't leave the US over Warwick prices  ...

you posted the same thing twice???

I think with the price of new climbing the used market will follow.Which is good if I want to sell but bad for my gas. :(

oh you'll love your dollar buying power here in the philippines...

$1 = 42 Philippine Peso

there are no warwicks here though... and rockbasses are sold for like $700 used *lol*

as far as mid to high end instruments are concerned... you have it better in the US... why else would i be hanging out on ebay and finding $150 shipping fee cheap? *lol*

-*-

and oh, "super sized" drinks here are equivalent to your medium ones *lol* ..... just some Trivia for you

Yeah I live with a Philippine family. I'm considering taking a trip over there at the end of the year.

if you ever do, send me a msg man!

Yeah definitely! I'm only hesitant because they say that its dangerous for obvious "white" americans to go there. Is this true?

I think most of the world (including my self) is pretty pissed at "america" but they seem to think that I would be in danger if I went there.

not true... i dont know... those things are blown out of proportion... it even spooked the crap out of Slipknot *lol* It ddnt spook Incubus though cause they've been here recently.

i dont think the philippines is as scary as say, some parts of new york ... here in davao city (its popular for its beaches and resorts), ive never been mugged. In manila, ive been mugged twice - once at gunpoint, once at knifepoint, but that was because i was walking thru a bad neighborhood *lol* dont worry, youll know its a bad neighborhood when there's no one else is around the area.

I lived in East Brooklyn for a year so I think I will be able to hold my own.

Especially if you speak Spanish or Tagalok [spelling?]. Of course, no matter how good your Spanish may be, there are perhaps dozens of different Spanish, so you will sound like an outlander .... but at least you won't sound like a Texan, NewYorker, etc, etc :-)
