no way in hell I'd buy a copy...
 
Lawsuit, thats he word I first thought when I realised the ad was about a copy. They even say Warwick in the demo video "the brand used by many pros around the world" or something like that.

I wonder, how a brand like Warwick fight, in legal terms, of course, against this kind of "copy-cats"?
 
Yeah. Most of the times there is no problem building an instrument similar to another, but when you use the company's name this clearly, it is definitely infringement of copyrights as well as exploitation of the goodwill Warwick has gathered over the years for their brand.

Warwick & Spector had a licence agreement, hence the words, "Licenced by Spector" clearly labeled on all Streamers built during this time. Stuart Spector sold his company & the new owners didnt bother with the agreement. They had much bigger fish to fry, like actually paying for the company they'd bought. This made it possible for Warwick to produce the Streamer as it's own.
Side by side, new or old, the only similarity is the sillouhette.

Warwick should step on their neck and not let up. That's what RIC does and very few get away with messing with RIC. Heck, they even have Ebay so scared that Ebay will shutdown auctions that might even somehow possibly in some distant and strange way be somehow considered to be close to infringing on RICs trademarks and patents. The key for RIC is they started out early on fighting to protect their brand, they fight tirelessly and unrentlessly, and they go after anyone and everyone. Fender copies are everywhere, RIC copies a lot more rare. Of coarse there are a few that manage to build anyway, but RIC manages to limit the markets they can be sold in. Warwick should be just as agressive in their protection of the brand. At least that is my opinion.
