I tell you what Gentlemen, putting this deal together was one heck of an experience, I mean it would have been easier doing my own brain surgery...

The Seller did not speak English well and did not want to sell to anyone in the USA....at first :)

The bottom line is I BOUGHT THIS FRIGGIN' BUZZARD! YAY!!!

Now, onward to a 5-string. DOLPHIN PRO 1 NT 5 WIDE NECK 1991 would be ideal, but I'm flexible with the year mfg.

So did I!!!!! I got my check and was waiting for it to clear and I was gonna buy it yesterday. I even spoke with Chad and everything.

Some lucky %*€$×&@ from back east with the bucks snagged it late last night. F__k!!!!!!!!!
 
On the bright side, my 1990 Black German Warwick Buzzard made it through customs and its on its way to Martin Sims UK for front and side LEDs. Yeah!

I am also planning on changing the pups to Delanos, and the 2 band MEC pre to a 5 knob, 3 band John East pre with passive tone option. Then, I fully shield all my basses with the Stew Mac kit. I may have Sims do it all, it depends how much he3 wants. The pups, pre, and shielding install I can actually do a great job myself. ♋
 
I would refrain to mod the Buzzard in a nonreversible way. Just my 2cents, of course. I'm pretty sure you can find a 3 band preamp with three knobs.
Delano P'ups are a great choice, paired with the East you'll have tons of clarity.
 
Yes, get some stacked control knobs. LEDs are awesome ofc!

HEY YOU BONEZIE I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT YOU GUYS. How are things ?

OMG! Do I have an update for you! I am doing the following to the buzzard The bass will be ready in 3 months in time to hopefully pick it up at NAMM.

You guys go to NAMM btw?

How far are you from Kent UK? The bass will be at the shop another 3 months if you can go have a look...:

1) Retrofit front and side LEDs; iridescent Blue except for 12 & 24 will be PEARL WHITE. They can't put lights directly under the numerals without ruining the neck so they are carving individual STARS above and below EACH numeral. So, each MARKER will have a side LED and 2 stars in front. Cool, huh? I'm also having him put LEDs under the Headstock logo and also under the Name "Buzzard" if possible...

2) I caved and I'm having Martin totally cusiom paint the bass. Turns out its been like 5 shades of PINK before someone did a half-assed job of spraying it black. It's gnona be jet black lacquer custom paint with embedded GOLD sparkles.

3) They are custom shielding the entire bass, it will be noiseless.

4) Removing the MEC electronics and pickups. Installing Delano P/J pickups and a John East active preamp with separate Volume, balance, stacked mid with sweep, and passive vol and tone control. So adding 2 more knobs plus 2 mini switches for the LED's.

5) Adding Gold schaller straplocks.

I don't think I will install a drop-D tuner. I've never used one I really liked;;;;;

That's it. It will be ready in 3 months, may be able to PU at namm at NAMM.

(Martin Sims is a very cool Dude. I highly recommend his shop BTW. )

Radical customizing that is! I only like them in their original design... NOT! :D
 
Wow this is truly one of a kind! Must see when its done. Ps, im in Australia so quite far from NAMM :(
