Hey Guys

First of all im a complete newby to this Forum!
so unfortunately i did not own a Warwick yet!:-(
But yesterday i got the chance to play a Vette $$5 in my local Musicstore an it really blows me away!:-)
so i look out for an awesome sounding bass like this quite a long time and i'm not sure to take the 5 or 6 stringer!
so if anyone of you had make some experiences with the $$´6 stringer please tell me!
(handling, different sound??, heavy headstock, ....)

greetz from Germany!

$$ 6's are in production, however I have never played one.

Hi there,

im pretty sure they are in production!I#ve something about it in a magazine we have in Germany!maybe it'll take some time for warwick to indroduce them in the us!?
However in the review in the magacine they say this thing should have a real heavy headstock.....but i have no chance to test it till now!
so if someone had the oppurtinity so far let me know!:-D
maybe i got the chance to play one during my placement in markneukirchen!if someone wants to know i'll write sth about!

greetz

ash body + 6string neck = neck dive

That neck will have a lot of wood in it, i guess the 5 string versions will give you some idea if you get a chance to play them.

the 6ers are available now. I do not think they are available still in the US until maybe later on this year because their production started I think last year.

They've been available in the US since February/March... I thought about getting one but ended-up feeding my Wal bass addiction further instead...

Are there big sound-differences between the 5-String and the 6-String? My local dealer has a 5-String available, and I love the sound. I would like to have that piece as 6-String if it doesn't change the sound too much.

Of course there will be a very slight variation, even between the exact same model & number of strings. But it wont be enough to actually notice.
In other words, the 6er will sound the same as the 5er.

thanks alot!

A little difference based on more weight, more neck to swing, another string that swings too is one thing, that I know, but its another pickup an so.
I found a 4-String version of a bass i liked to have as 5-string some years ago, played it and ordered the 5-string than. after it arrived I was shocked how different it sounded on the exact same amp. don't know, may be another productionline or something. Just don't want to go to the exact same dealer, and leave him alone with a bass after it :P
