Hey guys, I have been lurking a lot lately but keeping quiet. First I got pretty busy, then got slammed with some health issues.
I was having intermittent abdominal pain for the last year or so, and the last few months have been in and out of the Dr's office. I got tested for a lot of things including throat, stomach, gallbladder, etc; issues but eventually the testing ran out of time with no luck and I landed in the Emergency room with high fever and severe pain.
I ended up getting admitted and after more testes (the colon kind, ewww) they find out that I have Colitis (inflammation of the large intestine/colon) which is caused in my case by Crohn's disease, with a biopsy result of a possibility of ulcerative colitis. I'll let you google it if you want to know all the details of them, but basically its a life long thing, no cure, and my diet is changed and I am on pills everyday.
I am home now and pretty much back to normal aside from the change in diet which changes a lot about your body and its functions. No pain yet, and I am still adjusting to what I can and cant eat. I feel brave enough to eat things I shouldn't but when I do, it knocks me down a notch. The pills are expensive without proper drug coverage ($200 a month) and I am constantly reading and trying to figure out what it all means and what other treatment options I have. Other than that I am basically back and ready to move on.
Anyway, just wanted to share with you guys and let you know I am hoping to get back in the 'Can you do it?' madness. If your the praying type please say a quick one for me as our family has a lot going on the next few months, new baby, graduation for my wife from Nursing school, and hopefully not running out of money until she can get a job.
Adam.
