hello kids how are you
i was wondering who is the youngest on here ?
and what gear do you guys have
and better yet who payed for it because i no its not cheap i myself have payed for all of mine i am 16 so post your age what you have and who pad for it if you like

I'm 17, studying, and jobless. My gear currently consists of:

-Warwick Corvette $$
-Hartke 4.5 xl
-Marshall 115
-Warwick Pro Fet 5.1 (due to arrive today infact)
-Ibanez gsr200 backup

I paid for most of it myself, some with christmas/birthday money but the majority was just me saving for ages. I also get £20 ema a week from the college for having spotless attendance, which helps so much as far as gear goes. I don't really spend much on anything else. Need a job
 
I'm 19 now, tbh i only really became aware of all the things like tone/and gear setup after i got my first warwick for my 18th birthday!

when i was 16/17 i had the lower end basses, an ibanez and a fretless rock bass, ashdown electric blue combo. I kinda limited myself on gear due to i guess mainly not knowing about it! - happier days (no gas at all!) then i was told i should get some more high end gear......and here i am!

Now pretty much besides my $$(birthday gift) the rest of my gear i spent my student loan on, and sold off my old gear to pay for my pjb flightcase.
 
Im 18 and I have:

6 String Streamer LX 2003
Laney 60Watt amp...
And Im building a 4 string at the moment.

As for how i paid for it, the Laney and 4 string I've been saving up all the money i get to buy them.

But the streamer was pure luck as I got given a drum kit for free and after having it a year but not really being able to play it due to crazy neighbors i found out it's vintage and sold it for £530 and put money with towards my streamer.

squire jazz bass
and a boss bass distortion pedal

not bad for 17 i spose.
 
I'm 15
I have a Warwick corvette ash (Reduced price)
A Xtreme 5.1 - 115 pro and 411 pro cabs (demo gear, reduced price)
And a ebs ValveDrive pedal (Paid about half of what I'd have to pay in italy, and this stuff is made in Sweden, wtf!!?)
I also had a Nemesis NS15 combo. Bought it for 4500kr. Sold it half a year later for 4000 kr :D (500kr = 100$)

I'm jobless at the moment. But birthdays and such + I had a job as a paperboy for three years (sundays, horrible job. Getting up early on sundays? No life for me xD) I don't regret the job, as I made some good money on it.
Oh yea, I've also been doing a lot of work around the house the last years. We've been upgrading the house a lot.
 
I'm 16...

Gear - how I paid:

Corvette STD Frtls- $800 new. Had 500 bucks in the bank from previous birthdays/xmas. I sold my nentendo gamecube to get the other 300.

Thumb BO 5- $1400 new. I sold my account from runescape (a stupid mmorpg that I regret to this day ever playing, although the bass is nice) to bring in $1000 and the rest was from trading in my Lakland Skyline 44-02 that I had before the purchasing of my first wick.

Mesa Walkabout scout combo.- $1200 Birthday, plus my old peavy tko 115

EBS FX- $? Xmas

Lakland USA Bob Glaub- $2400 Birthday and xmas...

SSI 5 - $2100 new( <3 ebay) Mom gave me a loan because of the friggin sweet deal. Currently selling my thumb BO 5 and playing the rest off with my job at the zoo.

Bare in mind this is over a 3 year time period.

You think you're old... my own kids are older than some of the whippersnappers in this thread. :shock: :oops: :cry:

And how the hell do you kids get so much money so quick these days? When I was a lad I had a k-mart strat copy and a 10w practice amp and thought myself damn lucky to have them. I wasn't allowed to play, though, until I'd chopped enough wood for the stove so mum could cook dinner and heat the hot water for the washing up!

I'm just glad the kids here paid for their own gear! I think that when you spend your own money on an instrument, it makes it more...personal. I think I love my 'Vette even more because I bought it, rather than having someone GIVE me a $1200 bass.

A note to the youth: NEVER stop playing. I took a break when I was in college (around age 18-22 to those outside of the US school system), did a lot of drinking, drugging, and general destructive behavior, and took back to the bass when I cleaned up at age 26. Gentlemen (and ladies), it's a kick in the ass to re-learn everything.

I'm not advising being a hermit. Go out, play gigs, meet people, have fun, be a kid/teen/whatever, but know your limits. Balance your professional and personal life and ALWAYS be in control of your habits, rather then having them control you.

Sorry about the ramble. I'll be off my soap box and back in the woodshed.
 
Im 16

'06 Warwick Corvette Double Buck - Got a job at 13 and made about $450.00 and another $900.00 from my 14th birthday (the bass was $1350.00 new at the time)

Ampeg BA115 Combo - Christmas '05

right now i have about $800.00 towards an Eden Half Stack which is enough for the head

Corvette Std(bubinga): Worked all summer, and my dad payed for about half, but that was my birthday and Christmas present for the year. (Age 13)
Eden 120" Nemesis amp- Birthday/chirstmas money
Ampeg B-25 with custom 15" cab- I got a steal, $75. I was mowing yards and the money at the time, so i bought it. (Age 14)
Christopher Upright Bass-Payed for $300 of it. My dad promised me when i got into highschool he would buy me an upright
Crappy Drum kit: $400, mowing money
Streamer Standard: Mowing money. (Age 15)
Washburn cabinet, another sweet deal, $25.
And other assorted small stuff.
 
Im 18. I have my thumb, two X-treme 5.1s, and a WCA 411, 410, 211 & 115.

I paid for all my own stuff by being underage (so not having to pay bills, not being taxed etc) and working loads...

Now I'm 18 I wont be able to afford anything else now for years. This is fine though as I dont want anything else :wink:

I've always believed that Warwicks were Godly and that Mark Bass amps are amazing for how small they are compared to bigger more intimidating heads.

But the Behringer speakers may need to go...but I don't know what to get so oh well.

I payed for the speakers no problem since it was for 250+ I think?

I started working on my Warwick really hard...and when my parents saw that they payed off the rest of it so I could have its beauty finally in my grasp.

The amp was entirely a christmas present when I was 15 (when I was working at a Kroger and bought the speakers when I still used my Schecter)
