My budget is about $1300 (i'm looking mostly at secondhand stuff, and my actual budget is closer to $2000, but I'm thinking of putting some of that towards more amplification stuff and things like that), and I'd like everyone who owns a Warwick to give me some input here on them as I'm considering them (naturally). I'm looking for sound, feel, action, etc, any and every scrap of info and picture you're wiling to throw at me. Thanks a bunch everyone!

I just bought this for $1375 from ebay. So it is possible to get a mint top end Warwick for your initial budget.

Having seen the current second hand prices, I'd not be interested in buying new at the moment :)

You can't go wrong with a Thumb or a Jazzman, in my opinion. Jazzman bassses are incredibly versatile. Thumbs just seem to sound instantly great and feel easy to play.

I found the Corvette $$ a good all rounder. Its ergonomics are not to everyone's taste (chunky Humbuckers, little space near the neck). But sound-wise, I liked it a lot. Considering the price and range of possibilities, That would be one of the first on my list.

But I'll tell you about my thumb when it gets there :) Second hand is definitely an option. You get a lot of bass for your $$$, and 'vintage' warwicks are very desirable (wood combination different than the newer models), but they are still a great deal. They seem to age well too.

Well, I´m a Streamer-man, so thats my recommendation.

But, (and this has been said before), you have to take time to "testdrive"
as many different models you can get your hans on, to find out wich one
suits your playing style.

Hope you find what you are looking for.
Good Luck

you forgot the third pickup switch 8)

lol man that's insane, i'd love to hear it bark :D

Wouldn't be very good for slap but I bet it sounds pissed!

hehehe
Don't think that bass would sound any good.. :)
Maybe in Spinal Tap tho..

But you will get a good Warwick for you $$$.. And the $$ is a Good bass with a very flexibal sound.
