Check out the German CS gallery:

It's pretty nice looking, but a damn shame to colour that wood...

Those p-ups look so BIG on that tiny body !

Sound-wise, it must be a killer though!

It actually looks pretty good. I've had a chance to play a $$ Thumb BO 4 strings with a birdseye poplar top and ash body. Definitely a killer sound.

Let me guess,

the Birdseye Poplar Thumb $$ had a Maple fretboard and the body was like amber coloured ??

Damn that Thumb has a killer look it's prettier than the Vette $$ NT
what is the wood for the body??

That thing is gorgeous!
Doesn't leave much room for slap playing though, wonder what that would be like with just one MEC pickup, kinda like older MasterMan bass setups.
Would that be available as a custom option?

Cheers,
Eude

I will give you some reports soon.
On Friday, it will be the first gig with this $$.

I'm so lucky!!! :D

Congrats! Obviously my comment in regards to the colouring of the wood is my opinion. If it's what you want, then nothing else should matter!

Yesterday eavening, I've played the first gig with my new Thumb. The stage was really small, but it was a lot of fun to play. The listeners were fantastic and the technicians done a really great job.
But for me, the event of the eavining, was to play that amazing $$.
This Bass can do so much different sounds. For example. We've played a song that has some really agressive riffs but a really smooth interlude. This bass has given the right sound anytime. While i played the hard riffs, it was really like the Mudvayne Sound with al lot of middles and really punchy but without drifting to far away from the guitars. In the interlude, i've played just a liitle bit softer and the sound was warm and gentle.
Without any question. This is the best bass i've ever played.
And i think i have not tryed every possibility right now.

I think if I ever got one... I'd have to move the pickups alot closer to the bridge... or even do the one $ setup... I played a $$ awhile back and the pickups get in the way for me.
