Thumb NT 5 vs Thumb BO 5

What is the fundamental difference in sound between the two? How about practical differences?
 
It's the difference between a NT and a BO bass...
The NT one is fatter and twangier. The BO is dried, faster, and growlier.
Because of the xtreme pickup placement, they sound pretty similar in the mix.
 
I didn't want to open another thread so I'll ask here...how does the B string compare between the two?

When you are back in Austin let me know and I will let you try both of mine man!! I got both of them in 5 string versions (both)

Does that mean you now own a buzzard?
If so, you have to let me know how it sounds...How it's different than the others....I gotta know......:lol: It is one of the basses I lust after. Is it all 'look', or does it carry a sounds distinct to its own?

I don't have a buzzard, but...
I ordered a 5 strings streamer stage II, with the exact specs of the buzzard.

The sound is fat, old school, funk machine, or for straight rock. With the neck pickup only you get a tighter, growlier Pbass sound, and with both of the pickups it has a sound of it's own. A very distinctive growl, but I guess it is hard to see it unless you try one.
Anyway a real Buzzard feels very good, and sounds amazing!

i see youve removed the finish on the back of the neck. is it easier to play now?
 
It is more familiar to me, as I almost never played a bass with a high gloss finished neck. So for me it was not natural.
