The bass conserves its original electronics , with EMG pickups. It's in great shape considering it's 25 yrs. old, the previous owner had it as a studio bass and I purchased it 4 years ago to study with. If sanded down a little, body and neck could recover complete smoothness like mint condition. I actually like the feel of the different woods on the back of the neck and how they've matured with time. There's a small nick behind the 7th fret from a fall it must have taken long ago, nothing important though. I've got the action low, neck and frets are fine, no buzzing. Sadly I have back problems and need to find an ultralight instrument so this beast isn't for me.... I just hope I can find something with similar tone... on the looks department nothing comes close ! it's a beautiful handcrafted instrument. She's a beauty that rocks ! 8:
