This Fortress a good deal? Tell me about the sound

I am totally new to Fortresses, but can anyone tell me what this would sound like?



Sam Ash near me is selling for $1,199, but it has been there a long time. Could probably get down to $1000.

Thoughts? I've played it, but it need a set up, new strings, and desperately needs a cleaning and waxing... I guess I'm looking for what it is "supposed" to sound like...

I love the Fortress style bass,I bought a MM a few weeks ago and paid less.I think the price is a little high unless the bass is mint.If they include a new hardshell case,strap with strap locks and new strings the price would look better.Good luck with the haggling.
