The V anchor question

I've ruined (doh!) some of the saddle bridge screws on one of my Warwicks, those used for intonation..
Now I'm going to have them as spare parts from my retailer together with their saddles.
Would you suggest to remove the V anchor -the part of the bridge that keeps the string in place from the ball- or the bridge itself in order to replace them?
I'm asking because I believe it could be easier this way but obviously I'm not sure, maybe it could come impossible to have the bass in tune again..

Hey Daniele,I think you might be able to change the screws without taking off the tail piece (V-anchor) or the bridge.

Uhm.. I don't think so, thumperton. You see, it seems they're too long to be easily pulled off the bridge..
 
there should not be a problem with removing the string anchor....

It is an easy piece to remove/re-install.

This part of the bridge is really easy to remove. All you need is a screwdriver and you're ready to go. If you think you need a new tailpiece, just contact your dealer, getting a new one is fairly easy and cheap.

Regarding Ollie, I thought it was a cheap spare part too.
It came out that they don't sell just the tailpiece but the entire bridge..

Well having a spare bridge couldn't hurt :D.
 
Can someone tell me the exact # of the screwdriver I need to replace the V anchor?

I checked my set & the best fit I have has #21 stamped on the tip,if that's a size or not I can't say for sure.If you use a tight fitting phillips head or posi-drive you should be fine.
