The Heads Up Thread

Yup, seen this one on the bay. But I think the reserve is a bit higher than that.

I swear, every week someone lists a used American Deluxe Fender Jazz for the same price as a new one.
As the saying goes, there's a sucker born every minute.

I'm fantasising on taking this one, route a larger neck hole and mimick StuHamm's streamer with a Dolphin shape.
Unfortunately, the price is a bit high, plus shipping and taxes it's not affordable.

This isn't a bad deal for a wenge neck'd LX with a lined ebony fretless board:

Hi folks,

I'm looking pretty hard right now for a Streamer LX 6-string, or SSI 6-string with a non-broad neck (if those exist). I'm checking this site, eBay, and Talkbass every day, but if someone comes across one please let me know! Thank you in advance :)

If you were replying to my comment, then thank you zomnius!
But at this point, I'm only looking for the models I mentioned. I am curious about the Corvette $$ 6-string (the only Corvette I'm even slightly interested in), but after playing one (a 5-string actually) standing up, I was surprised to note a little neck dive, so I'd want to play a 6-string version in person before buying one. The Streamers are more of a known quantity to me, and I prefer the body style :) But thanks again!

Man, very well done! Thank you so much for spending your time trying to help me in my search!
I'm sorry to do this, but I should have mentioned originally - I'm not interested in the Korean ProSeries instruments, I'm only looking for true German builds. There are, annoyingly, several PS Streamer 6s available (a couple others on eBay for under $1k, too), but I'm holding out for a made-in-Germany one. Thanks again so much, I don't want to seem ungrateful for your efforts!

I'm looking specifically for:
-German Streamer LX 6 string, year doesn't matter but prefer newer
-German Streamer Stage I 6 string if it's at all possible that some were made (CS, maybe) with a normal width neck; non-broadneck
-Any other custom-shop Streamer model that may have been made with 6 strings, if any exist

-Possibly a German Corvette $$ 6 string, if the body wood is something heavier than ash so the balance will be improved. This one I'm really not very sure about, I'm leaning heavily towards the Streamer models.

Thanks everyone for the heads up if you should see anything!

Thanks DemBoneZ, but if it's the one put up by Double Bass, I don't believe it's available anymore. He also had a craigslist ad in June that doesn't exist anymore, and in fact I emailed him about the bass and never heard back. His last post in the thread on here, even though it's still open, is from May 30th. I think that bass has moved on, but if you're talking about a different one that I missed, please do leave a link. Thank you!

Yep looks like he has,

This SS1 6 is still for sale was speaking to him a bit about it lately,

Good luck in the search I too am on the look out ;)

Very nice. I had an SSI 6 just like that, that I would still have if not for the huge neck/20mm spacing. Does anyone know if any of these exist with normal-width necks and the tighter spacing? Maybe a CS option or something that used to be offered a while back?

Thumbs have semi-similar electronics offerings (slanted and a little closer to the bridge), and is available as 6-strings as standard. You can also invest in a Streamer LX 6-string.

For NT offerings, the most economical CS option I think would be to get a Corvette $$ NT with different pickups (you see that at the custom shop from time to time). You can CS a non-broadneck SSI no problem, but that would cost like $6k.

Unmounted BN fretless 5-string neck. Obscure, yes, but I don't think you'll find another one.
