If i had the $$ I would go to Upland and rescue this baby, fix it up....poor Vette is so beat up.

Is it an FNA that's had a (passive) J pickup added later, so as to make it a kind of jazzman?

If you look real close to the bridge humbucker, you can see that it was the one added on. I believe this was a STD and that the bucker, the 4th knob, and "FNA" rod cover was added in too.
 
Well spotted - I hadn't noticed that. But yes, the routing around the humbucker is very messy, so I think you're right. I guess they added an extra pot at the same time. I wonder what the controls are, since the gold pot seems to be a double track pot.

What is custom shop about that bass? The color? Meh. I hate how people try to overemphasize something as custom shop or limited when they haven't done anything unique or all that different to the bass.......
