The Heads Up Thread

For those that like gold...and I mean GOLD -

It appears this bass and the two listings above are all from the same person that traded them into Guitar Center as noted by the custom name on the fretboards.

Strange. 3 CS basses, obviously bought last year, but now given away? Each now offered for maybe a third of the retail price?

Agreed...those prices are all the same so I imagine there is some wiggle room. Any idea who bought three CS in the last year artist wise? I haven't checked the CS to identify any of them but with the custom sig on the fretboard should be easy to track down.

I guess he got them in an endorsement deal and the lock-up period was over. Nice basses, but personal inlay and 21 frets.

Personal inlays are like an iron stamp on a cow:

"nice cow, son, but it belongs to Uncle Tommy.... I ain´t buying it".

Makes you wonder why Warwick even went through the trouble to sign him.

Some things can't be seen until after the fact.

With an artist that big, it may be worth the cost to a company to provide several expensive basses and have millions of people see them, even if they are not a long-term artist. In a way, it's part of the advertising budget.

But see, I am one of those who fill the budget. I pay a fortune for my CS and I know that all the endorsers are paid by the profits I and the other buyers of new Wicks provide to Warwick. That´s o.k., gives me the feeling to be part of something. That´s why it hurts to see that someone gets his Wicks built and throws them on the market quickly after. This should not happen. A simple rule in the contract could regulate that it´s not allowed to sell the basses within the next two or three years. My opinion.
