I've really only played Thumbs & Corvettes, and have listened to various Streamers & Jazzman FNA's. My favorite is the Thumb NT, and I have a seriously warped fetish for my NT5, to the point where I worship it, bogart it. It is like the Turbo Porsche that you only sneak out of the garage on "special days".

REASON FOR NT AND BO BEING THROWN TOGETHER:

The poll puts a limit on the # of options you can put. So I threw NT and BO together to make room for other basses. As you can see, some models got cut off from the list...I tried to list as many of the most popular models as I could.

I wish I owned a European supercar, Men.

The closest I can come is a 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS-396 that's been bored to 402 cubic inches (about 6.7 litres). At roughly 450 h.p. it will growl nicely.

i was about to buy a 1971 mustang mach 1 (like the one on the original "gone in 60 seconds") this spring but it got sold before i could get enough money :(
 
im not exactly too sure what u mean by growl im just assuming woody tone. But like why isnt the BUZZARD up there... ive never tried on first hand but have heard John using one...the double p bass make a vicious rumble man...like nothing ive heard....it made me envious and i usually hate twangy tone.

I see there's a few pictures of Norwood playing an Infinity on the myspace site. Never tried one of those - Hmmm ;)
 
My standard bubinga vette with passive pups is pretty gorwly. I think any passive bass with brass frets and good wood will growl. Though, the king has to be the NT thumb. 4 or 5. IMO
 
It looks to me like the thumb is the clear winner, and I can fully understand why!!! Since I got my thumb, it has ruined just about every other bass I've picked up since...
 
Well, you have put the Thumb BO and NT together and that is not a fair deal. Completely different instruments and different electronics... ciao / mats
 
And Thumpy, I used to be there myself (cars I meen). I am on my 32nd car now (yes I am old), had five BMWs as company cars and a Porche 928 with street racing specs - low, fat, 478Hp on the rear wheels. Do you know what I drive today? Well, a Peugeot 307 :oops: Is that being mature or just losing it....
 
Mats,thats being practicle.As for losing it,well,we all lose it in the end & your end's still a long way off.So many basses,so little time. :P
 
You men have probably gotten to the point where I am.

That point is where a new Thumb Bass is more exiting than a new car.

Besides, the Thumb will be with you for life, and the car will usually get worn out in a few years.
 
Bassoctopus, you gotta understand that my Dad & I are into street rods & muscle cars, and the s - - t that US automakers pass off as new automobiles over here is absolute garbage.

Thumb Bass is a lot more fun, over here anyway.
 
You guys don't know anything! I drive a leen mean speed machine! I'm not sure what company built it but it's got 26" wheels, 27 gears and can do roughly about 60 km/h. I'm talking about my bike, of course. And occasionaly I take trains. :D

Let's get back to the topic: The growl!
