The Difference Between a Dolphin Pro I and Thumb NT

Again, a question from a warwick fan who doesnt have access to any warwicks aside from the ones i bought.

Both basses seem to be made for cutting.. im saying that in the basis of owning an Ovangkol Wick (darklord) ...

and i know this is a fat chance... but whats the sonic difference between a Dolphin and a Darklord? ok that's two questions...

The thumb NT have that specific growl. The Dolphin is a great bass too, but sounds more conventional than the thumb. The thumb is very centered in low mids, while the dolphin covers pretty much the whole spectrum.
I cannot comment on the dark lord, because it has different strings you know... but it has faster response because it is BO, longer sustain and piano- like sound because of the 35" scale.

Well, my experience is limited with SN Dolphin and NT Thumb at the moment. But I would not really consider the Dolphin to be conventional sounding, even within the context of Warwick basses.

I think the DSN sound is somewhere between the TNT and the SS2. The TJ/J pick up really give it a lot of emphsis on bridge sound which is a big part of the Thumb sound IMO.
