The bass for the sound I want (HELP!)

Ok, so i've been listening to alot of players, and playing alot of basses lately. I know the next warwick I get will most likely be a CS so i'm trying to figure out what are the ideal options for my bass. I really like that tight compressed sound of my corvette (especially with a fresh set of lo-riders ), but I also really like that vocal sound of a fender jazz (i.e. marcus miller). Also like that little bit of fret noise stanley clarke gets, if only it had a little more bottom. I know I want a neck through bass, and the bass thats in my avatar, i really like the looks of it. (It's a NT Bubinga 'vette with a tremolo). So do you guys think that bass will give me the sound i want with some alnico bassline pickups? What other options do you guys think would be ideal? If everything goes to plan (which it probably won't) I might be able to order it towards the end of '09.

I would think that it would be just about right.

The bubinga would compress but the maple neck would make it a little more
open and vocal sounding.

The brass frets really cut back on the fret noise though. Unless they are
constantly being cleaned.

Yeah, i clean my bass everytime i put new strings on so it wouldn't be a problem. Is it just me, or do the difference in alnico/ceramic pickups make a big difference in the sound? Ceramic (victor wooten/stanley clarke) have that mellow tone with that edge taken off, while jazz basses have that pop to em...
