Sun tanning bass?

I saw a Corvette Proline that'd suffered a similar fate.The top was so dry & faded it looked like a piece of driftwood,that'd been relic'ed.It looked like it was ready for the compost heap.
 
yeah I wouldn't be leaving my bass out in the sun...
 
My old middle school band director named all of her instruments and out of the 100's she had she remembered all of there names.

Casper was the big white Sousaphone ;)
 
when you look at the back of the headstock, you can see the original color, because i never have the motivation to rub the oil in back there:lol:

That is just with maybe 5 treatments of lemon oil. I do it whenever I change my strings, so every 2 months or so.

Oh and just a side note the very last picture on the bottom right of the neck. You can kinda see a X (thats my favorite part of my bass ;))
