lets just say the calluses on my fingers are so thick, i can pickup a pan right off the hot stove. :D

I've cooked in resterants for
well over most of my working
life.

I've always neglected the use
of pot holders. :D

My finger tips feel a little thick and have lost some feeling,
but I don't have dry callouses like you could finish smooth
with fine sandpaper. I play 3 nites a week and practice all
the time. We play the same venue most of the time. They
have some kind of hand lotion in the washroom. I use it
only after the gig, but I'm still using it 3 times a week ....

I also wonder if the gooey pink soap in the dispensers at
my day job has some kinda lotion effect. I hit that prolly
about twice a day, 5 days a week.

i could probably use 100 grit and it wouldn't bug me. callouses don't bug me, i actually find more benefits to havings them than not having them.
 
My hands are more cut up,
bruised, scared, and calloused,
than if you stick your hand
into your car's engine's fan
at 9 grand.

From the north, raised in the
south. LMAO.
 
Hellborgs are the be alla nd end all of all strings. I cannot get enough of them now that I have put them on my bass. Im seriously so blown away.

Aye they have there benifits, i'm luck to have the callouses big enough to play bass well but they still retain a kinda supplty to them, maybe just the way i play.

Yes, right hand technique is very important.

If you are playing hard, you will need callouses to keep from getting blisters. This will hold true even more if you are playing all the time or more, like every night.

Some people don't play hard and have a softer touch, they can get away with it a little more(having no callouses). I play really hard most of the time, therefore i have really big calouses, which i like. If i spend time away from playing and the callouses go away, it's very painfull when i start back on the road. That has only happend once, though. I practice 2 hours daily, plus i'm on the road a lot....so mine stay tough.
 
well I can't really play right now, on account of my thumb, but I wanna try the marcus miller strings, I know thats a little bit off topic :lol: :lol:

Those two strings will be very much the opposite from one another. It should be fun.
 
I've heard the Hellborgs are tight and rough. The Millers are slinky and smoother. Thats all.

He already came out with that. I have being wearing my Martinie lingerie for about 2 months now. I keep them fresh with a spramp of Ryknow spray so I don't have to wash them.
