Streamer $$

So, i was a'lookin around warwick.de site and happened across The apparently new Streamer double buck. Also ran a quick search on froogle.com which turned up a few high-priced results. Up till now, i've been dreaming of a Corvette 5-string $$, but i'm starting to reconsider..

Does anyone have any experience with this bass? Any idea how it compares to the Corvette $$? I'm really curious..
 
As the vette $$ is so popular youd expect the streamer $$ would be a popular model too but they dont seem to get that much of a mention on the forum...maybe they're not worth the extra £300
 
I've never tried the Streamer $$... but it does have a maple neck (correct me if I'm wrong), so I'm sure there will be some sonic differences.

They look great though... I think the extra cost goes towards the machining for the Streamer body shape.... I'd love to try one!
 
Both basses have ash bodies but the Streamer has an ekanga veneer between the top & back & a maple neck.The Corvette has an ovankol neck & both have wenge boards.It boils down to what shape & what woods you prefer because both basses are absolute audio assault in the ex-treme. 8)
 
I own a Corvette $$ and played a Streamer $$ a few weeks ago. To me, the Streamer sounded smoother, "rounder" than the Corvette, a bit more aggressive...

I prefer the Corvette, IMO.
 
Just want to make it clear. Is the Streamer the more aggressive sounding bass or the Corvette? I'm guessing you meant the Corvette, considering I don't really associate "aggressive" with 'smoother and rounder." But that could just be me..

I just traded in my Sreamer $$ for my Thumb NT. I was worried when I first ordered my Streamer $$ that because of the Maple neck it would not sound like the normal Warwick.... BUT it sounded great. It still had that Warwick growl but was a little smoother than most Warwicks. Natural on an ash body looked sooo nice too! I liked it because it has a concave body unlike the corrvete. Sweet bass!
 
I was just playing one right now here at the factory, great instrument overall. I think of it as sounding really close to the streamer jazzman, but with a lot more personality and power. The Jazzman is known for being versatile, probably one of the most versatile instruments in the Warwick production line. The maple neck in the Streamer $$ brings it out of the dark hole basically, it makes it a little more bright and rounds off a little bit of the attack. To be honest, it sounds like the femsale partner of the Corvette $$.
