I second that. If I got to choose now mine would be black or red. I always thought it looks a bit cheezy. Plays like a dream though ... 8)

Vendolin. I think it was someone in Malmö, or Helsingborg that was selling it.

You rigth! Red degraded to yellow as sunburst. I think that would be the flame

I bought my Red SSI 5 string off of eBay for $1700 US. It is a beautiful color for that bass, although I have been thinking about switching to black hardware though . . .

Thanks Greg. But, since I have passive Barts with an Aguilar OBP-3 pre-amp in my SSI I am going to need a different pot than the standard. Luckily my local luthier has what I need in stock, I just need to actually decide if I am totally ready to switch to black hardware.
