Strap Lock question

My new bass (1998 Thumb BO6 bought used) came with Dunlop Original straplocks. I need to transfer the lock to another strap, but can't get the C-ring off. Do any of you have experience with this?

yea man its no big deal, just pop em off with a screw driver or an old pocket knife. ya might wanna try and not cut your fingers off. good luck

Thanks! The C-ring is a lot tougher than I expected. I was afraid of cracking or bending it, but with a little muscle and finesse they popped off. I still have all my fingers, too.
