ss1 pickups question

can anyone tell me the sound differences between the standard mec pickups and barts in a 5 string ss1? what are the differences? good vs. bad, etc. thanks
 
my SSI have Bartolini on it, preamp is aguilar OBP-3, sounds.....so normal, the normal could be good....I think, they aren't as hifi as EMG(No hi fi), not like bassline also, just like a "mic", the special thing is, they are fine in headphone, sounds great in live.....they are humbuckin...I think!

Never try other pickup on SSI, the size seem to be special, or I would like to try EMG or MEC...

I heard Bassline before, I like Bartolini better, bigger tone! I will stay on Bartolini or MEC if the pickup come with the bass, or I will change it.

Maybe the "normal" tone is "vintage"....too hard for a Taiwanese...

Hey Johnson, it is not good vs bad here...
MEC are brighter, they have more hi-fi sound, more growl.
Bartolini are more mid- low mid oriented, fat round sound.

Hi Florin

Would you agree that MEC has more growl than EMG does?? I have no MEC PUs on my warwick, my SSII is EMG too, I would like to try MEC on one of my Warwick.
