hated you guys. you sent me some emps for the contest (which is awesome), but they suck. they don't sound bad, the durability sucks. i tuned my G string, got to Gb, and POP, it broke. Flo tried to help me fix it (thanks man), but the core just broke, again. Same thing happened to both me and Flo with DRs, i was just hoping it would happen with warwick.
 
The strings are made in the USA,not by Warwick in Germany.
 
if the same thing happened with DR's, then I doubt it's the strings, but rather the bass. The bridge or nut may have a problem where that catches the string the wrong way. You may need to file them down.

Hey Andrew I was trying to hear some of you're sounds that you posted on the clips thread, but I couldn't get to them are they still there? How do I find them?

I'd have to agree. I've never used EMP's but have never popped a DR and I have them tuned flat and never a problem. It't the bass or technique I think...
 
er....i can't find singles anywhere!!! no one here carries warwick strings, and guitar center is dumb because they won't order the effing required six sets!!!
 
I've only ever had problems with Rotosounds, break them every time I get a set.

That's another reason I like having The Bass Place where I live - they keep spare singles of DR and I think Warwick strings so you can make custom sets, turn 4 or 5 string sets into 5 or 6 for cheap, or replace broken strings. Another way the local/mom&pop can beat the big guys...
 
:idea: I've got plenty of spare EMP single strings.
I've sent "gifts" to people before,only to find them for sale on ebay,so unfortunatly I have to be re-imbursed for postage. :cry:

Greg, is that your old used ones ... or? Actually it doesn't matter, they should be tight enough anyway.
 
yep,it's an old one.An old black label,I actually broke my only spare .045 EMP unwinding it.That's the first bass string I've ever broke.
Anyway it's hardly been used Andrew & tell your dad not to worry about paypal,it was only $1.95.

Patrik... it took me about three minutes to work that one out (I'm not feeling very bright today)... now I've got an image in me head that won't go away!

I broke 2 DR G strings but that was because of a rough saddle... I fixed it and its never happend again. Are you sure your saddles arn't messed up Andrew?
