Sometimes you fall

hey everyone!
thanks for all posts and kind words. you are the best. :)

i'm feelin quite good these days. the medicine (Cipralex (Escitalopram)) is doing its part by keeping me from not going into spiral-mode when thinking. i'm eating like a horse, having fun, living day by day and meditating as often as i can. i got myself a new job that i love and it is finally becoming summer-ish here in sweden.

i still se my therapist on a regular basis and will keep doing so for some time. same goes for the medicine. i'll probably eat it for a year or more. realizing that the medicine can only be credited with a limited bit of my progress has been really helpful. so i know now that it's me, not the medicine that has taken me back and up a few notches.

reading back in the journals i wrote for my therapist this winter i feel like i've been in a totally different world for a long time. hell one could call it. and i don't wanna end up there again, so i'm doing what i can to learn how to cope with things, how to recognize the first signs of thoughts going out of control, dealing with anxiety attacks and preventing them etcetera. and to live here and now, and not think about what has been or what shall come.

so. basically, i'm alive. and liking it. alot! :)

love,
/Erik

Those are great news, Eric! Sending positive vibes from across the border, söta bror :)
Keep rockin' you'll beat this completely!

Great news mate, take care of yourself and let this thing run its course. do not stop. The therapist is possibly using CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) or Solution Focused Therapy which both of them are great for this problem. Support groups and play or art therapy also work wonders.

keep us posted. told you .. the meds take some toime to kick in but once they do... in combination with activities and other things... you'll make it. Those lines about the thought process reveals is probable CBT and keep doing it. does work. sometimes we just need to reset the way our brain is acting and teach it new ways to function in order to prevent the sprialing down.

keep us posted.

Hey Erik,

I've been there man. It was something I was ashamed of for a long time. As soon as I stopped being ashamed of it and sought help, things started down the right path to getting better. Through therapy, medication, and meditation... I'm feeling much better these days.

I'm SOOO stoked that you're feeling better bro! Remember, you can always count on your "Bass Brotherhood" to be there if you need anything. Keep in touch.

Cheers,

Steve
