Hello everyone!

I just want you all to know how happy all of you and this forum makes me.
Maybe it sounds silly i don't know. The thing is i've been slipping and sliding and going downhill for sometime and now i've got diagnosed with a severe clinical depression. I hardly play any instrument anymore, i can hardly muster the energy to do anything. It's a weird "place" or state to be in. Sometimes fascinating, but mostly scary.

Anyways, i still come here when i find energy and things aren't as foggy as they sometimes are. And i just love the positive energy this place simmers with. and it makes me feel a little better for a little while. and that means a lot.

thank you!

Hi Snooze!

I've only had mild depression in the past, but I know where you're coming from. Depression is an illness... but sometimes people don't understand as it's not as obvious as if you broke your leg or something! Take a day at a time and keep posting if you can. Hope you're feeling better soon and good luck!

Life is a mad mad ratrace and somehow we’re all expected too join and fit in. This is a sign and not just for you, too realize that there's a lot more to life... Wise words that surely you've heard a lot these days.

I hope you have someone near to you too help...my two cents, my sister has(and still does) gone thru numerous years off therapeutic sessions and a small army off shrinks. Most important is that you and this one special person stay dedicated but also critical towards the treatment. Trust in a therapist is just as important as staying on top of what they're doing.

I wish you all the peace, quiet and wisdom.

Never feel uncomfortable to ask, post or PM for any kind off conversation, I(and I guess WE) would love too be there if needed.

Enjoy the nice snooze when ever you can ;)

Take care
Aljan

Hey Buddy,

I guess everyone has to go through this, must of us without knowing it. It is a sign I guess that we need need to change some things in our lives. You'll be ok buddy, stay with us!

Hi Snooze, the main thing to remember here is that you aren't alone in this, there are people here for you - many with experience of what you are going through. My family also has a history of depression. The advice given above is pretty solid - one day at a time and hang on in there man.

Agree, definitely hang in there. It will get better bro...

The advice above is good stuff. Don't know what else to add except that you will be in my prayers.

It definitely is good to have a place like this to retreat to whenever you feel the need. Good people here - and not just because we play Warwicks. The brotherhood here goes far deeper than that...

my girlfriend suffers from severe depression. she has an ugly history.
keep pushing through, there is a way man, Gods healing power is real, Hes working in her life and i can see results.

il pray for you snooze
God bless you

thanks for your kind support everyone!

I'm seeing a therapist on a weekly basis, and we connect really good and i trust her and feel i can be honest. Right now there's no other focus than to try and teach me how to keep my nose above water every day. Which right now feels about as power draining as climbing m:t everest without an oxygen mask. Also had the misfortune of developing some sort of an eating disorder as well during all this, so there's alot of small daily "babystep" things to fix before dealing with the larger issues. yay, good things comes in pairs, right? ;)

like i said, it's a fascinating but scary journey. i don't fully know where it will take me yet.

i guess what i really want to say with this post is, that if you feel that life contains more darkness and misery and you feel helpless and sad and apathetic more times than you feel happy and experience joy; don't be afraid to talk to someone about it. i wouldn't wish this life on anyone, and i dunno if depressions can be nipped in the bud. life is something that should be a good place even during times of trial and obstacles.

cheers,
/Erik

Indeed, good things come in pairs: juzzo's double post had good stuff in it, and it came in "pairs" (double post)

Seriously though, I'm glad to see you reaching out and you seem to have some grasp on the issue and a good spirit here. Trust me, those are good signs!

And like juzzo has said, God is the one who made us and He can also fix us. When a complex watch breaks, it may be a buch of complicated springs and gears and miscellaneous parts to you, but take it to the watch maker and he knows just how to put it all back together and get it running again! :D

sorry to say that i've never had this problem, but hopefully things turn around. the only time ive been "Deperessed" is when a friend let me down, but it's usually a misunderstanding or some one else set it up.

What if you feel like you must play an unlined fretless triple neck Thumb NT each and every day* ?? And you don't even play fretless ?? Pure desperation that weighs a ton dragging you down. No friggin' way you can control this Warwick monster.................What are you going to do ?? Well, there are people who can disect the triple bass into three seperate basses, so you can tackle each bass one at a time. And there are people who can help you draw fretlines on each bass..............See ?? The problem is much more compact and easier to tackle................Hey, someday, you will be able to play that triple neck monster after all !! You can do it.

So there I was, all lost in the forest. It's amazing if you're from the city, that even if it's midnight, there is still plenty of light around. Lanterns, dimmed light shining through windows, and blinking traffic lights. You realise how light it actually is in the city at midnight, when you're lost in a forest in the middle of nowhere. Pitch dark is redefined. You can't find the way out of the forest. It was freezing cold. But the most striking thing was the darkness.
I don't know why, but I started looking up to see the stars. It was a very unusually clear night. Bunch of stars shining like little crystals. They all looked familiar, except for one. There was one tiny tiny star visible, that I have never ever seen in my life before. I was amazed. Staring at that tiny spot for a while, I got this intuitive feeling that the star wanted to tell me something.............And then I realised it: "I've been shining all my life for you..................but you've never noticed me. But now you finally see me after so many years.........."
That moment, there was no darkness and cold, but only light and love that filled my life.

Wow I'm in shock  !!
After I read all that Snooze wrote I can only say how much I understand him , cause I'm actually falling into depression and always seemed the kind of matter that no one would care , like saxonbass mention it it's not like having a broken arm or leg.

Probably I not the right person to talk about this issue but all
I wanna say is hang up there Snooze and tomorrow surelly will be a much better day and its a obstacle now in your life but you'll get trough it Its the thing I've grabbed with all my strenght every time I feel that I going down.

Also you already know that here in the forum you got the support from all
Best wishes mate
