who do you think should have a signiture bass?

id have to say sam rivers. a sig warwick and rockbass model with the L.E.D.'s would be sweet

Martinie's bass isn't custom, just black. In fact, you can order his bass for no extra charge.

However a Sam Rivers sig would be cool. Only problem is, which one!? Sam has 4 custom shop Streamers iirc.

So? Jack Bruce's signature Thumb is stock except for the inlay and side LED's. :P

It's hard to think of many (if any) players who have brought more attention to Warwick in the last 5 to 10 years than Ryan Martinie has...
 
Signitur basses are ok, but I prefer Signature ones...

yes, we realize that, however, if I was t see anyone want warwick to put together a signature series bass for them, it would be him. He also uses different frets, by the way.

In the past 10 years, Entwistle, but he already has a sig bass. To be honest I had never heard of Martini, or Peanut for that matter, before joining this forum.
 
I agree with Greg.

Nothing against Martinie (Believe me, I don't want to get into that mess again!) But a professional using a stock bass speaks more volume for the brand than if they had a signature or custom.

Yes, he has stainless frets on his black thumb, but I'm almost positive most of his basses are stock. This idea being supported years ago in a video, in which he sleeps with his Thumb on the tour bus, a clearly stock one.

And as per who else needs a sig, me. :d. Everybody in my town knows the bass player from Auditory Addiction played a Warwick, they won't know what to think when they see me with a Zon!!!

I absolutely would have voted for you, Ryan, but then you went and sold your ProLine. No Warwick? No signature Warwick.

Ain't life a... well, you know. ;)
 
Well, to save face, I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering a Rockbass Streamer later this year from my local, just to somewhat keep base with Warwick.

i would def like to see a sam rivers sig. but i would like to see a rockbass version more than a warwick. even if it was 1500 it would still be cheaper than paying the price to get a custom bass like his. and he has good taste. obviously the chrome would be to expensive for a sig. but the trans black with red L.e.d.'s would be nice. warwick needs to take there rockbass further. not everyone can afford the thousands of dollars needed to get these beautiful basses. the P-nut bass would be another great rockbass to.
 
Yep but the aim of Rockbass is to offer CHEAP Warwick basses. You just can't get a P-Nut 3, or at least what makes it a special instrument, in a cheap bass. What makes a P-nut is its woods, its electronics... They cost a certain amount of money. Doing a P-nut Rockbass would be nearly impossible... Neck-thru? Too expensive. SD electronics? Ditto. Fine woods? Ditto again.

They could make a cheap version of the P-nut, but it would be nowhere near the "P-nut spirit".
 
true the p-nut does have a lot of choice woods. but you could still do a cheaper version. a bolt on with the same pickups, a veneer top on a nice wood body. you could do SD pickups. they dont bring the cost up that much. it wouldnt sound the same. same goes with the same rivers. flame maple veneer on a ?? wood body, SD pick ups. and L.E.D.'s. bolt on body. obviously they wouldnt sell it for 600. prob like 900 or 1000. but it would still be a cool bass.
 
Well, the TylerDurden special would be a nice Bubinga 3/8" top over a two piece US Swamp Ash body, with custom-wound MEC stacked humbucker/singles (similar to Zon Barts) or Nordie fat stacks. Two-band eq, with stacked vol/mix and bass/treb. Neck would be a composite/Wenge mix with stainless frets if I had my way, but more likely would be Maple with two Wenge runners and a Wenge board, stainless frets and 35" scale. Hipshot hardware, and the plastic knobs with the white lines. The bass would be shipped with Ernie Ball coated Power Slinky's.

Choose your own body style, I'd prefer a Streamette style, but Streamer would be gnarly too.
