Sounds fantastic ... I mean the event not the video (lol) ... I think the whole concept is fabulous ... I too am so jealous of those of you that are able to attend. Big props to Warwick, Lex and everyone else involved for doing this.
Its hard to see the space you have to work with, but having a live drum set and the amps set in that little alcove with nothing to dapen the sound with at all just intensifed it and made everything even louder. Electric drums, yea you can control volume that way, but man at what cost. Nothing sounds as great as a live kit. But there are a couple simple things you can do to improve things to a manageable level fairly inexpensively. Sound Isolation and dapening. I know you dont want to distract from the beauty of the showroom so you may want to make these things portable.
You defenately want to soften up that back wall so if nothing else take two light stands (one in each corner) with a heavy curtain or other material hung between them. (Hell spend a few bucks and you can have the Sessions on 7th and/or the Warwick Logo painted on it to give it that professional look)
Next get some isolation panels to set up in front of the drummer to cut down on the volume. You can use ply wood, but even painted that looks a little tacky and people wont be able to see the drummer and that wouldnt be a good thing.
And personally, I would cover that hardwood floor in the drummers area with some carpet or a mat to help soften that too.
Of coarse there are a number of different things you can do to help you out with you loudness issue, I was just trying to give you a couple of inexpensive and portable ideas based on the video I seen.

Good idea Randy. That place is so small though, I don't think it would matter much
Best to find a way to plug in and match up the video later. There was a stationary video camera there but I'm guessing the volume was too much for it. All I had was my phone , HTC touch pro 2 and even with dual mics for level control, it was too much. If the sessions become popular, they will need a larger venue because the showroom seats about 5, with standing room for about 15 people.

You & me both Bojan.
TM's one of my all time faves.Even in the 80's the man was phenominal.I can only imagine what he's like nowadays.Have you ever watched any interviews or clinics of his?He's one of the most interesting & inspirational guys I've heard.
TM is at the very top of my own personal bass star totem pole.

I dunno how many of us have noticed that Lex is actually the "host" of these sessions.
I didnt see that little detail at first.

I've seen like 4 shows in the past 3 years - and watched some youtube clips.
that's not like real interviews or clinics, but you get his approach to music pretty fast. I've never seen someone having so much fun on a stage, or people watching a 2 hours show consisting of like... 4? songs with just impro and joking around between... and I've never seen anybody playing that good after drinking SO MUCH Jägermeister. which is maybe also the reason way I've seen his naked ass. Normaly I'm not a fan of seing other men's asses, but it's somehow different when it's TMs.... :-D ...
And Lex as host of such great thing, simply: Gratulations and thank you - I'm somehow sure this stuff was also Lex's idea

I really hope that this monthly continues, it was great. Great playing by all and an intimate setting. I got there late (815) and there were about ten people in the room including the guys who were playing. Unfortunately tried to capture some moments with my phone but the sound on the vid was horrible. I did see a camera on a tripod so hopefully there will be a vid posted.
Anyone who lives in the area should come to the next one. It would be great to show support to the shop and this event to make sure it keeps on going. The music was great, the vibe was friendly and laid back, and I was surrounded by a room full of very talented musicians and the basses... the shop is stocked! I no longer need to look through the online custom shop gallery. The store is packed with some of the nicest looking basses. Another cool thing was that some of the guys were playing the basses and guitars from the store which is a cool way to hear what the gear sounds like. I especially loved the sound of the Star II 5 string.
We (da unfortunate Wickheadz who didn't have da opportunity to go to NY) are desperately waiting on vidz, picz, reviewz, commentz...whatevah....
