Gotcha Doog... I figure I might as well share my experience to everyone in the search for the right instrument for me. I know that its not only Rockbasses but it could be on anything. In my experience I was searching for RB and thats how it goes. You're right that no 2 woods are ever exactly alike therefore the uniqueness. The question is which is the right one for you...

Hello all, just wanted to also say Hi. I too now have my first Warwick product, well almost, on the way. Just purchased my first Rockbass and will be shipped out today.
Look foward to chatting to most of you, and thanks in advance for all the help I will probably receive from the group.

A big welcome to the wonderful world of Warwick. Which model did you buy?
 
As for myself I have had a Bass for over 10 years now, I play mostly for enjoyment. I used to jam with a few people now and then and have even come up with a few fillers for a friend of mine way back who put out a CD.
I have my own little setup for fun, here is some of the equipment I have.
El Degas Precision Bass...not too much info, its about or atleast 20 yrs old!
Cort ...I owe a friend dearly for this deal !
Ibanez Rg electric guitar
Rockbass Corvette Classic ...on its way
Akai GX 4000D reel to reel
North American Sound mixer
Zoom MRT-3B drum machine
I also have some mics and few other toys, mainly I have been building up stock as I have 2 young daughters who are totally into music like Daddy !!! Small acoustic, bongo's, tamburines, and many other instruments now lie about the basement. I am mainly a recreational player but have decided that I would now like to put in more time and energy towards becoming a better muscian.
The next thing on my list...is one mean rig :twisted:
I thoroughly enjoy LOW END and am actively shopping for a nice stack.
Like I said previously I love some of the rig's I have seen on here.
Any other players from Canada on here?

there very nice. I'm a huge fan of the RockBass line, I like my Vamp Rock Basses so much i even started to use them as my main stage basses (ahead of my streamer LX and Corvette STD)

The RB Corvette Classic is a great bass! IMO it was better than the Fender US P-bass I used to own... but I didn't know when I got the P-bass that I preferred 2 pickup active basses (except I'm not using the active eq on my Warwicks now) - that's all part of discovery and evolution, I think. The Corvette Classic should have been my last bass, but getting into this forum gave me GAS big-style... I had to get a $$... then a Thumb! And as I have a strict "one in, one out" policy, the Covette eventually had to go. You won't be disappointed by it... just beware of GAS! :wink:

GAS, or Gear Aquisition Syndrome, is a common ailment among musicians, but also touches photographers, motorcycle fans, and pretty much every member of the male gender...

It's an incontrolable urge to get stuff, to have one more bass, one more cab, one more... just one more...

It's a very serious ailment among Warwick fans, and some deeply affected individuals have been known to have, in addition to "normal" issue Warwicks, bought several Custom Shop basses or Limited Edition...

I regard it as part of the male genes... regardless of the object being "GASsed" over.... but maybe there are some lady GASsers out there!
