Satin Finishes?

I recently discovered the new "Satin" finishes on the Custom Shop page. Can you (Ollie) maybe tell me a bit more about these finishes? If I order the clear satin finish will the wood be visible but feel like a matt finish? How much will this cost (I'm guessing a bit less than a high polish finish)? Are there more finishes available then there are displayed on the site (for example like the flake and sunburst finishes)? Thanks man.

Yes, the wood will still be visible. A natural satin finish is what you can see in the 2006 LTD bass, the Thumb Dirty Blonde. This also means that even though you can see the wood, the body is sealed (or the whole bass in the case of Neck-Throughs) by the finish and it doesn't need to be waxed. In the case of a colored satin finish, you can still see the wood as if it were a normal colored oil finish, but it looks more like a matte finish, and again, it seals the wood, so no need to wax.

About pirces, I'm sorry but I can't say, because that would depend on your country independent tax policies and your dealer.

But could I get a Night Blue Flake finish with a Satin or "matt" surface, in other words a Night Blue Flake finish just without the high polish?
