Run down on the $$s electronics?

Could anyone please explain exactly what the switches do on the $$...in layman's terms please?

I don't quite understand what the terms 'in series', 'parallel', etc. mean. :x

It's the way the two coils in a humbucker are linked. You don't need to worry too much about this, just listen the sound. You have 3 different sounds for each pickup :-)
Series is more midrangey,
Parrallel sounds fat and smooth
Single coil, is similar to a J pickup
 
From the manual:

When the switch is in the up position the neck / bridge pick-up is humbucking and routed in series.

When the switch is in the middle position the neck / bridge pick-up is single coil and both routed as humcanceling with each other single coil.

When the switch is in the down position the neck / bridge pick-up is humbucking and routed in parallel.
