Replacement Pickups for an 04 Streamer Standard

I was wondering if anyone has experience replacing the MEC pickups that come on the MIG Streamer Standard? The pickups have a very low output, so the bass is missing that Warwick growl. Any suggestions on a good replacement would be appreciated. I've had the bass for a while and firgure it's time to upgrade the pups.

I believe the only replacement pickups are made by Bartolini - look under their 4-string pickups.

Low output does not impede growl. Low output just
raises the noise floor. What's impeding growl is that
trashy bridge on a pine body. Not much you can do
about the body, but you could get a BadAss bridge.

The PUs are kinda wooly, and unfortunately you do
hafta keep them close to the strings cuzza their low
output, and closer means woolier, but growl can be
produced if you can just get something substantial
to anchor your strings. Anchoring your strings in a
chromed marshmallow just won't do !
