Removing Warwick Bridge

I'm replacing the gold hardware (urgh) on my 1990 Streamer Stage One with black hardware (yey). I've easily removed the tailpiece part of the bridge, but I've not got the foggiest how to remove the main part. How do I do it? I've labelled the screws so we can all talk about the same thing easily:

Hey man,screws 2 & 4 are the locking screws,the others adjust the bridge height.Loosen,then remove screws 2 & 4,then loosen all the other screws & the bridge will detatch. :wink:

Where did you buy your new hardware from? I'm looking at doing a hardware color change myself.

I bought mine from Warwick UK via a local music store.

You can get yours through dana b goods.

A full set for a stage 1 V cost me £65.

I forget which US website it was but I saw Warwick hardware available for about $90US.I think that was for the bridge only.

FYI:
Your Streamer has the older Brass bridge, which was replaced in 1992 by the Zama bridge, a cheaper alloy.

If your black bridge is new, it's likely a Zama one.
You'll find that the older golden bridge is much heavier.

IMHO the older Brass bridge is simply better in the sound compartment.
Moreover with the new, lighter bridge your bass will become more neck heavy

You are correct. The old bridge is a solid piece of brass, and the new Zama bridge is hollow in many places. I have combatted this be leaving the "base" part of the old bridge, and only attaching the new black "top" section.
