Recently I have returned to playing Warwick exclusively. It all happened when I went to Guitar Center 2 weeks ago and there it was... A 5 string FNA Jazzman on clearance! About 1/2 price! I got the credit and took it home.
It's a 2004 thats been in the store the whole time. After new strings, a setup, and cleaning the gunk off of it it plays and sounds like a dream.
I have owned a 98 Corvette since 2003 but I admit I havent been playing it much lately. Been playing a 96 Sterling and a bass I call the FrankenFender, a collection of Fender/Squire parts. Both a very good basses don't get me wrong, but I didn't realize how much better these Warwicks make my band sound. A much more powerful, warm tone that just fits. Always smooth and never overbearing as the Sterling could be at times.
My drummer asked why I never brought the original Warwick to rehearsals or gigs since i owned it for so long and I honestly don't know. Just played the same basses out of habit I guess...
Oh well, heres a pic of my basses and my practice amp. Excuse the mess.
For some reason, they look much better in person.
Oh BTW... Mike Brown at Dana B Goods is one awesome guy. GC shorted me the trussrod tool, Wax, and straplocks and he took care of business immediately. When I changed strings the JANII fell off and I found out it was broken, He even threw a JAN3 no charge. To top it all off, I really liked the JAN3 nut and enquired about buying one for my 98. Rob Busch sent me one for nothing and I received it in 2 days! Incredible service!
