random eBay question

so i 'sold' a Korg keyboard i don't play anymore on eBay for about $400. the auction ended on Friday night. I sent an invoice for the full amount that same night. haven't heard anything from the buyer. i sent a reminder note this morning (monday). still nothing.

everything i've ever sold on ebay was paid for within 24 hours of the auction close. what is the generally acceptable length of time for payment before i list this again?
 
Hi - there are rules, I think, that a buyer must pay within a certain time. Did the buyer make the bid just before the auction ended or had the winning bid been placed days before? I once bid on something and forgot about it and won it! Its annoying when ebayers dont respond to messages, ive had this problem before. If you here nothing you can report him and pay no fees, I think? But i wouldn't re-list until you have checked the rules. Good luck
 
well, ha ha. so the bidder got out of it by saying that someone stole his account and made unauthorized bids. hilarious. if it was real life i'd probably believe him, but lately ebay seems like a den of liars and thieves.

if you've been on eBay for 20 minutes you know that if you bid and win, you get a million emails alerting you. so this guys takes 4 days to figure it out. yeah right.
 
Unfortunately, buying and selling on eBay has become a very risky thing. Not too long ago, you only had to consider the reputation of the buyer/seller and the quality of the item description. Now there's scams, hackers, and deadbeats everywhere. It's too bad really.

I've normally been of this opinion, but i recently got into the ebay thing, got me an effects pedal and some tuner thing. Like stroud no bad experiences, but i'm extra cautious i contract sellers before i even considering bidding ect.
 
That's great that you haven't had any problems, but trust me when I say that it's likely you will eventually. I'm not some anti-eBay guy, but all I was trying to tell you is be careful.

Here's an example. The following auction, which may or may not still be up by the time many of you read this, is a complete copy of my photos and description from a Wal bass I sold on eBay earlier this year. And two more things, this is definitely a scam - and it's the 12th fake I've been nice enough to report to eBay on this auction alone...
 
ha ha. that Wal auction has been pulled, but if its the guy who wants you to email him first before you bid, i've seen him before. that was your bass? i've had Wal lust since I heard Geddy play one.

like i said, ebay = den of thieves.
 
Yeah, I still own 2 Wals. They are amazing basses.

I havn't had any problems with ebayers, yet... Although I do notice ALOT of fake fenders and other bass copys... pretty sad....
